General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has paid a working visit to Kigali.
The son of Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Chief of Staff of the Ugandan People Defense Forces and the Presidential Advisor on Military Affairs, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has paid a two-day working visit to Rwanda, where he is expected to meet with various senior military officials and the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame.
On July 25, 2026, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba arrived at Kigali International Airport, where he was received by the Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Defense Forces, General Mubarakh Muganga.
Other officials who received General Muhoozi Kayinerugaba included the commander of the Republican Guard, Major General Willy Rwagasana, and the Military Advisor at the Ugandan Embassy in Kigali, Colonel Ezekiel Matsiko.
In addition to meeting with President Paul Kagame, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is expected to hold talks with various Rwandan military leaders in order to strengthen the existing good relations between the Uganda People's Defense Forces (UPDF) and the Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF).
This is not the first time that General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has visited Rwanda, as he last paid a working visit to Rwanda in March 2025. At that time, he held talks with various Rwandan military leaders on cooperation between the two countries' militaries, and also visited the Military Academy located in Nyakinama in Musanze District, Northern Province.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba gave lectures to students at the academy on cooperation between the militaries of African countries in order to maintain security on the African continent in general.
During the course, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba emphasized that when the Rwandan and Ugandan armies are united, no problem can stand in their way.
