King James Makes History After Selling Out BK Arena Twice as He Celebrates 20 Years in Music
Rwandan music star King James made history after selling out BK Arena on two consecutive nights during concerts held on August 1 and 2, 2026, to celebrate 20 years of his music career.
The celebration was initially planned as a single concert. However, after tickets sold out within a short period due to overwhelming demand from fans, organizers added a second show, allowing more people to take part in the milestone celebration.
Thousands of fans filled BK Arena over the two nights, singing along to some of King James’ biggest hits, including Naratomboye, Hari Ukuntu, Nzakubona Ryari, Ni Iki Utabona, and Inzozi. The concerts opened with a performance by King V, while DJ Arthur entertained the audience before King James took to the stage.
One of the highlights of the celebration came when Zuba Rey and Ariel Wayz joined King James on stage to perform songs they have collaborated on, drawing loud cheers from the packed arena and adding to the excitement of the anniversary celebration.
The concerts also attracted several prominent figures from Rwanda’s entertainment industry, including Bruce Melodie, Intore Masamba, Coach Gael, Miss Naomie, Muheto, along with fellow musicians, media personalities and other invited guests who turned up to celebrate King James’ two-decade journey in music.
Speaking to the audience, King James expressed his gratitude to his fans, family and partners for their unwavering support throughout his 20-year career. He described the back-to-back sold-out concerts as one of the greatest milestones of his musical journey and a testament to the love and support he has continued to receive over the years.
Beyond celebrating King James’ personal achievement, the concerts highlighted the continued growth of Rwanda’s music industry and demonstrated the ability of local artists to stage large-scale productions that attract thousands of fans. The back-to-back sold-out shows at BK Arena will be remembered as a landmark moment in King James’ career and in Rwanda’s entertainment scene.
