Nsengiyumva is representing President Paul Kagame at the summit, where leaders from member states are expected to discuss ways to promote trade, investment and industrial development across the region.

The meeting is being held under the theme “One Market, Onefuture,” which focuses on strengthening industrialisation, attracting investment and ensuring that member states benefit more equitably from the regional market.

Participants are expected to explore ways to increase investment, particularly in adding value to agricultural produce, manufacturing and mining.

The summit will also unveil COMESA’s programme of activities for 2026–2030 and review progress in implementing measures aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for member states within the regional market.

The meeting follows a series of related events held in Harare this week, including the COMESA Green Industry Connect on October 19, the COMESA Business Forum on October 20, and a meeting of foreign affairs ministers from member states on October 21.

The events have brought together government officials, business leaders, investors and other development partners to discuss strategies for accelerating industrialisation, investment and trade across the region.

COMESA comprises 21 member states spanning different parts of Africa, including the southern, northern, eastern and central regions.
