AGRA Participates in the Africa Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (ACSAM) 2026 in Tanzania
AGRA is participating in the Africa Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (ACSAM) 2026, taking place from 3–6 February 2026 at Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Hosted by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the conference brings together ministers, senior government officials, development partners, private sector actors, researchers, and agricultural stakeholders from across Africa to advance dialogue and action on sustainable agricultural mechanization.
The conference was officially opened by the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba (MP), who reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to scaling up sustainable agricultural mechanization as a strategic priority for boosting productivity, reducing production costs, increasing farmer incomes, and strengthening resilient food systems.
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that mechanization is essential for modern agriculture and called for coordinated efforts among governments, the private sector, development partners, and research institutions to expand access to affordable and environmentally responsible mechanization services.
“Africa’s agricultural transformation requires deliberate investment in sustainable mechanization that is accessible, inclusive, and climate-responsive,” the Prime Minister stated, underscoring Tanzania’s focus on public–private partnerships and the participation of youth and women.
During the conference, participating countries and stakeholders adopted a joint communiqué, reaffirming their commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural mechanization through policy alignment, increased investment, regional cooperation, and inclusive mechanization models.
As part of ACSAM 2026, AGRA, together with its implementing partners, is participating in conference discussions and exhibition activities aimed at strengthening collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical approaches to improving access to agricultural mechanization across Africa.
