RUSSIAN DRONE ATTACKS PASSENGER TRAIN NEAR POLISH BORDER
A Russian drone attacked a passenger train near the Ukraine–Poland border in an incident that occurred on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
The train was carrying 206 passengers and was traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw, Poland. It came under attack near Yahodyn, in Ukraine’s Volyn region, approximately two kilometres from the Polish border.
Reports said passengers and railway staff were unharmed after the train received an early warning about the approaching attack.
The attack came shortly after another train carrying former European leaders had passed through the area. Those on board included former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt.
Ukrainian officials said the diplomatic train may have been the intended target, although there has been no independent confirmation that it was deliberately targeted.
Ukrainian authorities condemned the attack, saying it raised security concerns near the border with Poland, a member of both the European Union and NATO.
The incident comes as the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, with European countries remaining increasingly concerned about the conflict’s impact on regional security.
