Rwanda Hosts Africa Mindset Reset Forum
Rwanda is hosting an international forum that brings Africans together to discuss changing mindsets, strengthening leadership, and finding solutions to challenges facing the continent. The forum is known as the Africa Mindset Reset Forum.
The forum began on August 25, 2026, in Kigali, bringing together leaders, researchers, business people, and young people from different African countries. This is the first edition of the forum, with around 1,000 participants expected to take part.
During the discussions, participants are focusing on the changes needed for Africa to become more self-reliant, make better use of its resources and opportunities, and develop solutions driven by Africans themselves. The role of young people in leadership and in shaping the continent’s future has also been highlighted.
President Paul Kagame also attended the forum, where he reflected on his childhood as a refugee and how those experiences helped shape his determination to work toward a better future for Rwanda.
The forum is continuing today, August 26, with leaders and other participants exchanging ideas on how Africa can accelerate development, strengthen self-reliance, and play a greater role in determining its own future.
The Africa Mindset Reset Forum is scheduled to conclude today, Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
