The bootcamp enabled participants to refine their business plans, strengthen their enterprises, and prepare for growth opportunities. At the end of the training, participants took part in a Youth Agribusiness Plan Competition pitching event, where they presented their refined business plans before a panel of judges and stakeholders from the agriculture, private sector, and financial sectors.

Turatashye Nshuti Aline, founder of Bibamagara Ltd, said the training equipped her with skills to better manage and grow her organic horticulture business. “I now better understand business planning and financial management, and I am more confident about the future of my company. YEFFA is helping make our dreams come true,” she said.

Nashimiyimana Evode, founder of Youth Quick Agri Solution Ltd, highlighted the value of networking and engagement with financial institutions. “The bootcamp allowed us to connect with other young entrepreneurs and interact with banks. We gained important knowledge on how to access financing and grow our businesses,” he noted.

Cyuzuzo Anitha, founder of Ruba Farm Ltd, said the training strengthened her understanding of financial management. “I learned how to properly plan for investments, manage expenses, and calculate profits. These skills will help me make better business decisions and prepare for future investment opportunities,” she said.

The pitching competition showcased innovative youth-led agribusiness ventures with strong potential for growth, job creation, and transformation of the agri-food system. At the conclusion of the event, four outstanding enterprises were awarded catalytic equity funding to support the implementation and expansion of their businesses. The first-place winner received RWF 2 million, the second-place winner RWF 1.5 million, the third-place winner RWF 1 million, and the fourth-place winner RWF 500,000.

The awards are intended to strengthen the entrepreneurs’ equity contribution, improve their investment readiness, and enable them to leverage additional financing to scale their businesses and create employment opportunities for other young people.

Implemented by ADC under the YEFFA program, an AGRA initiative supported by the Mastercard Foundation, the bootcamp and competition are designed to increase the competitiveness of youth-led agribusiness enterprises and unlock employment opportunities across Rwanda’s Eastern Province.
