Nessa Reveals the Calendar for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
The National Examinations and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has announced the whole calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year, according to a statement the agency posted on its social media platform X.
In the statement, NESA urged students, parents and other personnel working in the education sector to be aware of this calendar and to start preparing early, so that there will be no significant obstacles in implementing it.
The first term is scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026, and end on December 18, 2026, and will last for 15 weeks.
The second term will begin on January 4, 2027 and end on April 2, 2027, and will last for 13 weeks.
The third term will begin on April 19, 2027 and end on July 2, 2027 and will last for 11 weeks.
Within this calendar, it is also expected that students studying technical and science subjects will take the National practical exams from May 31, 2027 to June 18, 2027, for a period of three weeks.
The National exams for primary 6 pupils are scheduled to begin on July 6, 2026, and end on July 8, 2026, lasting for three days, while the state exams for the Ordinary level and the Advanced Level are scheduled to begin on July 14, 2026, and end on July 23, 2026, lasting for ten days.
